Conspect turns available transcripts of public YouTube videos into readable text. This policy describes the account and history features and how the app and its backend process data.
Sign in with Apple
You can explore the app and a local example without signing in. Sign in with Apple is required to request transcripts and use your saved history. Conspect does not request your name or email from Apple. Apple verifies your sign-in; our server uses a stable, pseudonymous account identifier to connect your history and allowance across devices. A pseudonymous identifier is still linked to your account; it is not anonymous data.
The server processes Apple's identity token and authorization code to verify sign-in. It stores a keyed hash of the Apple account identifier, an encrypted Apple authorization credential needed for revocation, and hashes of Conspect session tokens. The app keeps its session credential in the device Keychain, shared with the Conspect Share Extension. Raw identity tokens, authorization codes and session tokens are not intentionally recorded in application logs.
Video links, transcripts and providers
We process video links you choose to submit and your preferred transcript language. When a transcript needs to be obtained, our server sends the link and requested language to Supadata, the transcript provider. YouTube may also receive a request for the video title. These services process requests under their own policies. Conspect does not read your YouTube account's browsing history, promise translation or bypass video access restrictions.
The server keeps video URLs, titles and full transcript text in a shared transcript library so the same public video and requested language can be served without repeatedly asking the provider. This library is persistent; transcript storage is not limited to a 24-hour cache. A request for the same transcript may reuse an existing library copy.
Your history
Your account has a private history of the texts you have obtained, including video URLs, titles, text and the time each item was saved. This history is stored on the server and available when you sign in on another device. Search words are sent to the server to find matches in your own titles and text. Opening a text already saved to your account does not consume another transcription.
Other users cannot browse your account or history. Another account can receive a copy of the same public video's transcript through its own request and allowance. The shared library does not share your account's history or identify who else requested a video. It stores transcripts of the requested public videos, rather than private documents uploaded by users. Saving or reusing a transcript does not transfer rights in the underlying video or text.
Allowance and subscriptions
The free allowance is 10 successful first acquisitions per account over its lifetime. Reinstalling the app, changing devices, signing out or recreating the same account does not reset that allowance. A video with a different requested transcript language can be a separate acquisition. A randomly generated installation identifier may also accompany requests for technical operation; it does not establish a new free allowance.
When the paid subscription is available, Apple handles purchases. A verified subscription provides up to 150 successful first acquisitions per paid period. We process Apple-signed transaction information, transaction and product identifiers, subscription status, a pseudonymous account token and usage records to verify access and account for the allowance. We do not receive your payment card details. Minimal verified Apple notification records are kept for up to 180 days before cleanup. Raw signed transaction tokens are not intentionally stored in application logs or the usage database.
Sign out and delete your account
Signing out removes the app's active session and shared handoff text from the device. It leaves your server history available for the next time you sign in with the same Apple account.
To delete your account, open the account screen in Conspect and choose Delete account. After confirmation, the service revokes its Sign in with Apple authorization, invalidates account sessions and removes your private history, saved-item associations and individual account operation records from the active service. If deletion cannot finish, the app shows an error so you can retry or contact support.
Aggregate pseudonymous allowance counters and minimal account-generation records remain to enforce the lifetime allowance and prevent old in-flight requests from recreating deleted history; they do not retain individual video selections. Deletion does not grant a new free allowance. Copies of public-video transcripts in the shared library can remain independently of your account. Restricted operational logs and backups may follow separate retention schedules. Deleting Conspect does not delete your account, and deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
Technical data and support
The server and hosting infrastructure receive IP addresses and standard request information for operation and security. Infrastructure access logs may include requested API paths and search query parameters. Short-lived rate-limit records use hashed network identifiers and are cleared as their window expires. Operational logs and restricted backups are separate from the app's history.
If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you send. For data questions or help with deletion, email selivahin@gmail.com. We may need information identifying the relevant account or transaction to locate records. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, payment card details or private keys.
Advertising, clipboard and sharing
The current app has no advertising or third-party behavioural analytics SDKs and does not send data to advertising networks. It reads the clipboard when you choose Paste from Clipboard, without background monitoring. Sharing a video link from another app processes the link in the same way; sign in through the main app first.
